Hanno station is on the Seibu Ikebukuro line. Seibu railways is the major private railway company operating in Tokyo and Saitama prefectures. Its major lines are Ikebukuro line and Shinjuku line.
All trains including limited express call at Hanno station. Train continuing to Seibu Chichibu on Seibu Chichibu line has to do the switchback at this station therefore many people think that Hanno is the terminus of Seibu Ikebukuro line but the fact is that the terminus of Ikebukuro line is Agano station which is between Hanno and Seibu Chichibu.
Now train leaves Hanno toward Tokorozawa, Ikebukuro in each 10 minutes. The station is modernized and there is adjacent hotel and shopping center.
