Unmanned store

Unmanned vegetable lockers in Tokorozawa, Saitama

Where you can buy vegetables in Europe? Markets, stores and sometimes on streets. This same as in Japan too but mostly on streets are unmanned. So it is free of charge to grab and get the fresh vegetables?

The answer is no. It is a crime to steal the vegetables without paying for them. So how does it work? Usually there is a box and you put the amount into the box. The prices of the vegetables are mentioned in hand written in addition to the name of the vegetables.

Usually the vegetables are in carton boxes but there are unmanned places which are sold in lockers or vending machines. These unmanned stores are hardly to find in downtown of metropolis but if you go to outskirts, you can easily find them.
