Tokyo will host the summer Olympic games in 2020. Tokyo hosted the first summer Olympic games in Asia in 1964. Therefore it will be the second time to host the summer Olympic games. There are only two other cities which hosted the summer Olympic games more than twice; London, Paris and Los Angeles. It is interesting that New York has never hosted the summer Olympic games.
Construction of the new Olympic stadium is on the way. The construction started in December 2016 and it will finish in December 2019. The capacity of the stadium will be 68000. It is located at the same place where the National stadium, which hosted the 1964 games was located.
Toei subway's Oedo line Kokuritsu-kyogijo station is the nearest station. Kokuritsu-kyogijo means National stadium. Currently this station has the lowest number of passengers of Oedo line.
