Sea cucumber is one of the wonders for foreigners to challenge in Japan. Although sea cucumber is eaten dried in China, Japanese cuisine uses fresh raw sea cucumber. Its season is early winter and cooked with vinegar.


Japanese do eat sea cucumber but it is not so common food and therefore dried sea cucumbers are exported to China and Hong Kong. However, sea cucumber is a delicacy and do not miss a chance when you encounter during your stay in Japan.
