Pancake is a popular food now in Japan. Although similar to Japanese pancake which is called "Hotcake", pancake can be eaten at diners and restaurants which are specialized in pancakes.
Hotcakes are determined as snack eaten at home mostly in the afternoon but pancakes are eaten during breakfast or lunch. In Japan, style of pancakes are not from Europe or NYC, but from Hawaii.
Hotcakes are eaten with butter, sweet syrup or honey but pancakes come with various fruits and whipped cream. Also savory pancakes with meat or seafood are available.
