Tsukiji Honganji

Tsukiji Honganji

Tsuki Honganji is a temple, controlled directly by Nishi-Honganji temple in Kyoto.

The temple had to be rebuilt in 1934 due to the fire occurred right after the big earthquake in 1923. Therefore the building is made of concrete instead of wood as like other classical temples.

Tsukiji Honganji is adjacent to Tokyo Metro Hibiya line's Tsukiji station and very close to Tsukiji fish market. The temple is open for public and no admission to enter the temple. Therefore it is an ideal place if you enjoyed the Tsukiji fish market and want to see something else nearby.
