One of the thing you should consider when you book your hotel in Japan is that the hotel offer's courtesy transfer or not. Not only hotels located near airports, but also many hotels offer free transfer between their hotels and stations nearby.
There are two types of buses. First one is running according to timetables. Second one is running according to the clients' requests. Therefore if you need a ride, you have to book the transfer upon booking the hotel.
Usually courtesy buses are operated by minibuses but large hotels near airport operates large coaches. These coaches are run by timetables.
